Blind vs Blind Confrontations

The less players in a game the more important blind battles become. If you are playing 4 handed or less, nearly half of the hands you play will be blind on blind. Heads up is one long blind confrontation!

How you play your small blind when its folded to you will depend heavily on what type of player the BB is. If he is any way decent, and the other players at the table are bad, then you are better off just folding a lot of the time and maximizing the amount of hands you get to play against the fish. An important factor to remember in blind vs blind confrontations, is that in general the other player will be giving you less credit for a hand than normal. This is especially true in tournaments. Because of this you should expect your opponent to often have a worse hand than he is representing. Often times in a tournament, an otherwise tightish player will push with a huge range of hands from the small blind.
